The York Pioneer and Historical Society provides many opportunities to learn about the people, stories and events that built Toronto and York Region and provide the framework for today’s growing communities! Members can participate in special events, such as the annual dinner – featuring a guest speaker – and the fall bus tour to explore first-hand the buildings and heritage of local communities and landmarks.
In addition, members benefit from receiving the annual The York Pioneer, the only magazine dedicated to heritage of Toronto and York Region. Past authors include historians Chris Raible, Mike Filey, George Duncan and Ronald Stagg.
And there’s the Update, a quarterly publication to help members keep track of events and achievements by the Society and its members.
Whether you choose to join the Society or not, participating in events with members brings many rewards. Scadding Cabin is open to the public during Doors Open Toronto, the CHIN picnic and the CNE. Eversley Church is open for special events and for Doors Open King.

The YPHS is a non-profit organization and we accept donations to help us with our work in preserving our city's heritage and making sure it is available for everyone to enjoy both now and in the future. We accept donations in the following amounts. Receipts for income tax purposes will be issued for all donations.
Friend - $75.00 donation
Benefactor - $150.00 donation
Patron - $300.00 donation
